LogMate®, the industry’s most compatible alarm management software, releases updates for ease of usability with LogMate® 8.0. LogMate® will operate on both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.

Windows 2019 Support
Capture and Signal are tested and qualified compatible with Microsoft Windows Server 2019.

SQL Server 2017 Support
Capture and Signal are tested and qualified compatible with Microsoft SQL Server 2017.

Tag, UsrStr fields and Content field size can be increased
This significant enhancement and long awaited feature allows the fields in the LMFW table in the Capture alarm and event databases to be increased to handle larger data fields from the control systems. The Tag and UsrStr fields can be increased up to 900 characters (default 80 characters) and the Content field can be increased to 8000 characters (default 1284 characters). TiPSView v4.40 is required to support the UsrStr and Content field length increase. If Inhibit Manager is required as part of the LogMate® installation, then the LogMate® installation will require Inhibit Manager to be at version 3.02 or greater to increase the field length.

<GARBAGE> Event Record Type change to <UNDEFINED>
Since LogMate® inception, any record not identified through the Capture Parser and filter file was classified as <GARBAGE> in the LMFW table Type Field when the Class field = 0. Some customers explained this identification was not politically correct. This Type field identifier is changed to <UNDEFINED>.

$$Tag concatenation supports more than two fields
Many customers use the $$Tag feature to create a unique Tag/Point identifier when the control system does not provide a unique Tag in the event data in one field. For example AVEVA OASyS customers use the table and point name for a unique Tag identifier. The $$Tag feature now allows three or more fields to be included in the Tag designation.

ClearSCADA Dereference Field Support
ClearSCADA includes feature to include custom CDBEventJournal table mappings to other table fields in the SCADA configuration. LogMate® users can now update the tips.ini file to manually include specific dereferenced fields to be written in the LogMate® alarm and event database.

ClearSCADA Duplicate Records fixed
Corrected a potential issue for the same records of the last hour to be read in again on Capture port reactivation.

Installation expanded to enable OLE Automation
The Database Maintenance feature in Capture requires OLE Automation in SQl Server to be enabled. Even if the Database Maintenance is not enabled, the LogMate stored procedures are still called to check for hard drive full and generate unnecessary Information event messages in the Windows Application Event Logs when the hard drive free space is checked. Enabling OLE Automation will stop the unnecessary Windows Event Logs. If OLE Automation is not enabled then the installation will now disable the hard drive free space check.

Installation now easier for Product Upgrades
In our enthusiasm to upgrade the Capture application, customers sometimes forget to shutdown Capture and Signal services prior to the product upgrade. The upgrade installation will now check is those services are running and will prompt the user shutdown the services and will even shutdown the services for you as part of the installation process.

Installation now creates Signal Service correctly on new Operating Systems
For new Capture installations, the Signal service is now created correctly on the later Microsoft Operating Systems.

Removed Store and Forward UTC adjustment error on Capture Restart
When Capture does not update the SQL Server database, Capture will store the records locally until SQL Server is healthy or when the Capture port is restarted. A defect was fixed for Capture to adjust the UTC time to local time correctly when records are stored locally.

Demo Mode is a tool for new customers
Capture now has a demonstration mode that allows Capture to work without a license key. This feature allows TiPS to send the Capture application to potential customers with new control systems not yet familiar to TiPS. Capture is now enabled for data collection for new customer demonstrations and interface validation.
