Sr Software Engineer

Job Information

I. General Summary of Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer provides technical leadership for TiPS products in the industrial process control market including but not limited to chemical, oil/gas, electrical generation, pharmaceutical, mining, and paper production. This position provides an opportunity to help make all manufacturing processes safer and more efficient by providing analytical tools for real-time control systems.

Designs, modifies, develops, and writes software application systems. Provides analysis related to software design and development, and solves problems. Prior experience and education as listed below are ideal – but attitude, enthusiasm, and energy are of utmost importance.

II. Candidate Qualities

The successful candidate will be an energetic and highly skilled professional who loves challenges and solving problems.

  • Four-year degree in computer science or computer engineering required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development specifically in .NET architecture.
  • Proficient in C# and the .NET Framework 4.0.
  • Proficient in Object Oriented Design (OOD).
  • Proficient in ASP.NET MVC 3 including Razor.
  • Proficient in JavaScript.
  • Proficient in SQL Server 2012 – 2014.
  • Experience with DHTMLX javascript framework.
  • Experience with AJAX is a plus.
  • Experience with WCF (Windows Communication Foundation) is a plus.
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server 2015 is a plus.
  • Experience with IIS is a plus.
  • Experience with POCO libraries in C# is a plus.
  • Experience with ELMAH libraries is a plus.
  • Must have a passion for researching and solving problems.
  • Attention to detail and high quality standards are required to maintain consistency in our products.

III. Other Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Generate technical requirement documents.
  • Ability and desire to formulate software design specifications and make decisions independently.
  • Analyze current programs and processes, and make recommendations to yield a more efficient product or increase product performance.
  • Provide unit testing before release to product test.
  • Document code consistently throughout the development process by listing a description of the program, special instructions, and any changes made in database tables or procedural, modular and database level.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to bug reports and assist test personnel in the analysis of defects uncovered during product testing.
  • Research and recommend software tools to management.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work productively independently and in a team environment.
  • Participate in forward direction discussions as required for new product development and enhancements.
  • Review and repair legacy code.
