I. General Summary of  Responsibilities

The Field Service Engineer will install LogMate software on DCS and SCADA systems. This  position will also work with the development, sales and marketing teams in  evolving the current high value and easy to use product into an even better tool critical to the safety and profitability of the facility. After installation, the customer will be trained on the use of LogMate. This position will assist in the development of training materials. Onsite customer feedback  is an important component of this position.

II. Candidate  Qualities

  • The successful candidate will be an energetic and highly skilled professional.
  • Experience in the industrial process control industry is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.  Highly articulate with clear speaking and writing skills.
  • Performed or participated in a LogMate  installation.
  • General understanding of alarm management.
  • Understanding of computer systems and  networking, including Windows, SQL Server, and control systems.
  • Knowledgeable in DCS control systems. Knowledge  of multiple DCS and/or SCADA systems is a plus.
  • Based in Georgetown, Texas or the Greater Austin  area. Relocation fees are negotiable.
  • Knowledgeable in EEMUA 191 and ISA 18.2.
  • Willing to travel internationally. A valid  passport must be presented upon acceptance of this position. If the applicant  is not a U.S. citizen, a U.S. work visa must be presented. Please, no M-1  visas.
  • Willing to perform installations on offshore oil  platforms and drilling ships, often internationally.
  • Willing to write and submit post-installation reports.
  • Four year Bachelor’s degree and/or comparable  experience is required.


III. Specific Job  Responsibilities

  • Install LogMate on a variety of DCS and SCADA  control systems.
  • Travel to customer’s site, both domestic and  international.
  • Prepare post-installation reports, which include  customer suggestions and your own observations on product improvements.
  • Conduct alarm management and LogMate training.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements.
  • Up to 75% travel is required.
